In light of the local, state, and federal recommendations concerning the Coronavirus outbreak, along with our commitment to the health and safety of our team and our clients, rest assured we are open and continuing to serve our clients.

Over the past few years, we have implemented processes and systems that allow everyone in the firm to work from the office, home, or virtually anywhere that has an internet connection. This means we can continue to serve you in these types of situations with little to no disruption or interruption.

Additionally, in an effort to do our part to prevent the continued spread of the virus, effective immediately we are discouraging in-person meetings and will instead be conducting as many meetings as is reasonably possible via telephone or video conferences.

For those with Court hearings or trials, we are monitoring the situation closely as it relates to court operations and procedures and will communicate with those affected as soon as we are made aware of any continuances or cancellations of hearings and/or trials.

Everyone at SEB Legal is committed to navigating the uncertainties of this situation for our clients. We encourage everyone to follow local, state, and national recommendations. We will be evaluating policies and procedures regularly as we move forward.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

UPDATE—

On March 13, 2020, Utah Supreme Court Chief Justice Matthew Durrant issued an Administrative Order implementing Utah Judiciary’s Pandemic Response Plan. The Pandemic Response Plan governs how courts in the State of Utah will operate for the time being. As with everything that is happening right now, the situation is fluid and can change at any time.

Under the Court’s Pandemic Response Plan, the Court is still accepting filings, but all “non-essential” court hearings have been canceled. For the hearings that will still be held, it is our understanding that, to the extent possible, Judges and Commissioners will be holding them via telephone conferences. Protective orders and other emergency hearings should still be held in-person. Our attorneys and staff will be working closely with the court and with you to help make this process go as smoothly as possible.

You can find the Administrative Order here: Order for Court Operations During Pandemic

Thank you for your understanding and patience at this uncertain time. We support the efforts of local and state leaders to limit the spread of this disease.
